Senna

Dear reader,

Welcome to the Officer of External Affairs page! I’m Senna, I’m 21 years old, and I’m super excited to fulfill this wonderful role in the 113th M.F.L.S. board this year. I’m originally from Houten and have been living in Leiden for about two and a half years now. Apart from my half minor, I’ve completed all the courses of the Medicine bachelor, and this year I decided to take a gap year to be part of this board!

As Officer of External Affairs, I am responsible for maintaining contact with the external parties the M.F.L.S. collaborates with. I’m the first point of contact for external organizations, and I spend a lot of time calling, emailing, drafting contracts, and having sponsorship meetings. Luckily, I don’t have to handle the sponsorship meetings all by myself — I get to occasionally drag Lysanne, our Treasurer, along to fun places in the Netherlands (or to the Tammeling ;). In this way, I help ensure that our Association brings in enough funds so that all the wonderful activities and trips we organize can continue! Besides sponsorships, I also supervise several very fun committees, such as the Career Committee, the Pre-doctor Committee, the Gala Committee, and the Parent Day Committee. Lastly, I’m also very involved in promotion, together with Naomi, our Officer of Internal Affairs.

Within the M.F.L.S., I’ve had the pleasure of being part of three amazing committees: the Mediski, the introduction committee ‘ElectrIC’, and the Career Committee. I gained valuable experiences there, learned a lot, and made great friends whom I still cherish. After all those committees, I started feeling the itch to do even more within the M.F.L.S., so I didn’t have to think long about whether to apply for this wonderful adventure! Outside of the busy board life, I love spending my Monday evenings with my cordial 'Bond', and I really enjoy field hockey, sailing, being creative, and singing along loudly to the music of Froukje and S10.
