Evie

Dear reader,

My name is Evie, and this year I am the Member of Education for Medicine and Pharmacy on the M.F.L.S. board. I am currently 21 years old and originally from Voorschoten, so Leiden has always been a bit of my second home! I have been living in Leiden for 2.5 years now in a really cozy house. Together with three other girls, I have truly found my place here. Over the past three years, I studied Medicine, after which I really felt I needed something different than just studying. I’m very happy with my choice to be on the board, and you definitely won’t see me in the university library this year :)

To make those study years more enjoyable, I quickly joined a committee at M.F.L.S. That’s where I formed my first friendship with one of my fellow board members! Wouter and I got to know each other as Program members of the TripCie, and many chill sessions followed! After that, I joined several more committees where I met a new board member each time. I met Fei in the Almanak committee and Jeroen during our JVT year. The M.F.L.S. has become a great place for me, where I easily meet new people!

During my JVT year, my passion for education developed. I saw many things I agreed with, but also many things I would like to change. That’s why I’m very happy to have the opportunity as the Member of Education for Medicine and Pharmacy to represent the opinions of students! Please feel free to approach me if you have any comments or suggestions about the education, as I’m eager to explore possibilities! I also really enjoy staying updated on all the new developments through the year representatives.

Besides all the fun things I do at M.F.L.S., I can be found almost every Saturday as a leader at a water scouting group in Voorschoten. Together with five great peers, I am responsible for a group of 30 children aged 7 to 11, which I do with a lot of joy! In my spare time, I love baking or watching series on the couch :)

I’m really looking forward to the coming year, and it’s going to be amazing! Feel free to stop by at the BK if you have points about education or just want to grab a coffee and chat!
