Dear reader,

How nice of you to take a look at our website! My name is Isabel Kollen and I am 21 years old. Two years ago I moved from Twente to beautiful Leiden to start with studying Medicine. Prior to the Introduction Days, my image of a study association was 'discount on books only'. Over the past two years, the M.F.L.S. has certainly proven me wrong. Fine education, fantastic committees with room for everyone, close friendships, special outings and vacations, amazing parties and endless possibilities make it an honor to contribute to this association as president and also the same experience for others.

In my freshman year, I joined the IntegraCo. I experienced how difficult integration can be during my time as an exchange student. Therefore, I enjoyed working with my committee to invest in welcoming international students and connecting them with Dutch students. My second committee was the Illustra committee. This year, the M.F.L.S. is 111 years old and to celebrate this, the Illustra organizes all kinds of special activities for all members. Besides these committees, I am a member of Augustinus, have worked at LUMC, and live in an amazing student house!

As president of the M.F.L.S. board, I am a point of contact for all kinds of parties. For example, I engage with internationalization, am the contact person for the board and I have a lot of contact with the members too. In addition, I supervise several M.F.L.S. committees and the new master; Population Health Management is also one of my tasks. Furthermore, together with the secretary, I am responsible for defining and implementing our policy plan.

One of my main responsibilities and also one of my most enjoyable tasks is the functioning of our board itself! I have frequent meetings with my fellow board members to see how things are going, to be informed about everything and to keep an overview. These various tasks are a really fun challenge!
